Kartchner Caverns

Discovered in 1974 and opened to the public in 1999, Kartchner Caverns are considered one of the top ten cave systems in the world. Kept in pristine condition by constant monitoring and strict regulations, these caves are a living limestone wonder with glistening formations that resemble marble. One of the only top ten cave systems that allows tours, your underground exploration of these massive rooms will awe and inspire you. The Discovery Center features a movie theater, maps of the cave systems, replicas of mineral deposits, and a photographic diary of the initial and continuing exploration of the caves. Surrounding the Discovery Center are six miles of beautiful hiking trails and a hummingbird garden.
